About the center
Colleen Hendrick and Blair Hornbuckle work together leading Youth Project (YP), one of the most successful dance and drum programs for kids in the entire USA.
Youth Project offers a unique mentorship program for young artists. Kids love the challenge of drum and dance, and thrive in the YP environment of very high expectations and tremendous support. Over 90% of YP kids return for more than one year of programming. Our youth are successful in the classroom too, showing a 100% high school graduation rate.
Colleen and Blair also lead Bush Mango Drum and Dance, a performing ensemble, as Artistic Director and Musical Director, respectively.
Bush Mango has performed before audiences of thousands. Our performers bring a joyous energy to the work, keeping alive the tradition of West African drum and dance.
